Follow up on the 'Rogue General' post

Well order was restored.

As I predicted, jason was contacted on Monday and he was not too happy about having his hosting account password changed and so he contacted ImHosted and a few security checks later, his account was back in his control and the tyrant was locked out of the site control panel. And because jason still had administrator access on the forums, he demoted McGruff and with the help of twig & feyd, restored the moderator team.

From patrikG's announcement about the situation: "Who says PHPDN doesn't cater for entertainment, ha, high drama it was!

The entire moderator team was disposed by an evil SiteAdmin, General McGrieveous (Private as of today) who threatened and tried to intimidate mods and members of the forum with legal action and wanted to turn this board into a horrible machine the size of a planet to threaten the Galaxy with.

Probably one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen on the internet (and I've been around for a while): a really intelligent, helpful and funny SiteAdmin puts a lot of work into this forum and goes out of his way to further his ideas of what programming is all about like everyone else. Suddenly, something breaks and he starts a coup d'etat ( story see: http://forums.devnetwork2.net/viewtopic.php?t=68 - and read the blogs ). This process spanned about three years. Sad, really.

After a very involved weekend, PHPDN is back. Thanks to everyone who emailed/pmed in support, spammed Jason's inbox ;) and helped restore things back to normal. Most of all, thanks to feyd who did the actual work. Thanks to those who made blog-entries, to those who voiced their opposition on this board while it was "under occupation".
Thanks for all the support.

It's good to be back :)
"

May this be a lesson for all idiots out there in power who are told to step down by their peers. Just do it. Removing everyone but yourself from any power and banishing the ones who oppose you is the most sadistic & nonesensical thing you could do. Especially when there is about a 99% chance your move will be reserved just days later, leaving you powerless.

Oh the irony in this situation is golden. It makes for good conversation about how stupid people can be at times.

That's all I got on the update about the situation.

So until next blog post, ciao.
